Physical appearance:
Full name: Edward James Nygma
Play by: Cory Michael Smith
Alias: The Riddler
Canon or original: Canon
Alignment: Villain
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Powers/Abilities: Genius Level Intellect
Tactical Analysis
Computer Hacking
Escapology: Riddler can think of over forty ways to escape his cell at Arkham Asylum, although never using any strategy until the time is right.
Mechanical Engineering: Riddler can design weapons, such as the device in his jacket and his question mark staff.
Weakness: Riddler suffers from a form of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), the inability to complete even basic actions without involving a riddle. He once tried to commit a crime without leaving a riddle, but failed, stating: "You don't understand. .. I really didn't want to leave you any clues. I really planned never to go back to Arkham Asylum. But I left you a clue anyway. So I... I have to go back there. Because I might need help. I... I might actually be crazy."
Personality:
Narcissistic
-If there is one thing Riddler isn't, it's humble. He believes that he is better than everyone else, believing them to be under him in looks and intelligence. He'll make it know that he has entered the room and expects to be met with praise and high regard. If someone were to insult him by not showing him the respect and generosity that he expects to be met with, he'll cause a scene and make it known that he is better than the other. Even if he is wrong, Riddler is always right. No ifs, and's or buts about it.
Genius
-Riddler's intelligence is something that he knows is better than most other people. He believes that his intelligence trumps everyone else and that he is never ever wrong when it comes to answering a question. When he runs into someone else who is smarter than he is, it infuriates him. He will go to any length to prove that he is smarter than the other. He has no shame when it comes to proving his superior intelligence
Dramatic
-Dramatic is quite the understatement when it refers to Riddler. He'll throw a bitch fit if someone dares touch his items and don't get me started on when he chipped one of his nails. He thought he was going to die. 'Guys! My nail is chipped! Do you not understand how dire this is! I can't be seen like this! Whatever shall I do? This is absolutely the worst thing to ever ever happen to me!'

Brief history:
The Riddler's compulsion stems from parental abuse that he endured as a child. After Edward got high scores on some important tests in school, his father, unable to grasp the fact that his son was brilliant and believing he had cheated, beat him out of envy. This, in theory, left him with a strong internal desire to tell the truth, and prove his innocence. This desire manifests itself in the form of his obsession with riddles. His madness, as well as his descent into crime in general, may also have roots in a yearning to rise above the anonymity that he possessed in his youth.
Years passed, and Nygma found himself in the working class population. He described it as 'Being in Hell." Turning to crime as a mere reach of entertainment, Nygma discovered that he was not satisfied with simply committing a crime. He had to create hype and had to make himself known, thus becoming the Riddler. His first 'Riddle Crime' was ignored by the police. So, in return, the Riddler planned his next crime, only this time, he made sure his intentions were known. In his first confrontation with Batman, the Riddler managed to get away, but his fascination and compulsion for riddles only grew to include matching wits with the caped crusader.
