In the past he had been a hero, but Cameron was not sure where he stood anymore. Was he still a hero? Heroes were not supposed or allowed to lose everyone they cared about in an instant. Of course, he had gained something new. A burning desire to make sure justice was most certainly done to any and all of the villains that existed. No Rookie Heroes were going to be allowed to do things that could get them killed if he had any say in the matter. Even if this meant he had to push his skills to new heights, Cameron was more than willing to do what needed to be done to keep his fellow heroes safe. It was his desire that they never experience the loss he had experienced, or go through what he had went through.
Transforming into a Kryptonian, he'd fly towards a group of thugs with alien laser rifles.
"You won't survive."

It was another typical day, Kara had stopped for a coffee and was hanging out at the table in a local shop. So far there had only been 2 mugging attempts and a stolen bicycle. She yawned, as she hoped something more exciting would happen. As she began reading a book, a strange noise caught her attention. What wonderful timing! It was definitely a fight.
Stripping out of her "normal" clothes to reveal her costume, Kara rushed through the skies towards the sound. "Who's that?" She wondered, but had only a second to think before the man was about to kill the thugs. "You won't survive." The stranger said to them. The thugs seemed to be using some sort of alien tech weapons she'd never seen before. How these people got access to all of these weapons, she'd probably never know. Info and high tech objects were always being "lost" to the streets.
"Hey!" She shouted and rushed towards him before he could murder anyone. "You can't just go around killing people!" If he ignored her, she'd have no choice but to attempt to stop him, but her main focus was on taking down the thugs before they hurt innocents.

"Oh, but I will kill them. I can't let them kill young heroes," After all, in the past Cameron had been a hero. It was a sad fact, but he could no longer consider himself one of the heroes. One of the reasons he no longer considered himself worthy of the path of heroism was that he was not a good guy anymore. Chances are he'd be considered a villain by anyone who was heroic. After all the methods he used were not that of a hero. His tactics were more brutal than what a hero normally employed in battle.
Of course he had lost everyone, so there was one of the reasons he was more brutal. Examining her, Cameron hesitated because she was beautiful in his eyes. Sure she'd never replace Julie, but she did look attractive. Forcing such thoughts down deep within his mind he said to her. "Three seconds. You have three seconds to stop the thugs, before I kill them."
Said thugs began firing, one of which had a red sun gun and fired it at Kara.

Her eyes narrowed when the man stated that he'd still kill them. Seriously.. who is this guy? It appeared as though she had no choice but to do what he said. She couldn't be in two places at once after all. Three seconds wasn't much time at all to take them down. Her best option was to do as he said and hoped he was not lying.
One of the thugs began shooting at her and she wasted no time to swoop down at him. She quickly used her heat vision to make the guns too hot to hold, causing the men to drop them. Not even a second later she followed with a punch straight to the first man's face. She had to hold back to be sure she'd only knock him out and not kill him. The others tried to hit her but she caught their fists with her hand and bent them back, breaking one man's wrist in the process before knocking him out too. Kara quickly looked up to the other man as she stood in the middle of the unconscious.
"Who are you?" Her voice was stern and cold.

"You can call me Shift."
The heroine he had seen in action certainly had talents. Perhaps she did have skills, and didn't need his help. After all she had been able to defeat the criminals. Thinking about it, Cameron smiled as he looked at her. Were he still not grieving over Julie, he would perhaps date her, if things were different. Right now though he was not feeling like he could date anyone, to be honest. After all he was not sure where he stood. Was he a hero, or was he a bad guy?
"Impressive. Would have only taken me one second, if I had bothered to transform into my aliens, or use my weapons."
He'd then look at her very seriously. "Still, your technique needs a bit of work, but all in all I'd say you did pretty good. You're also lovely, but that's beside the point," He blushed as he said that to her.
"So, what is your identity as a heroine? Surely there's something more that I can call you, other than.... "S-Girl."

"Okay.. Shift." She still had her guard up as she glared. They were staring at each other and she watched as he smiled. This confused her slightly, and she took a second to analyze him. She was certainly getting mixed signals.
Kara silently fumed after his backhand complement. She wasn't as good as Superman and the others yet. She already knew that. Hearing it from a complete stranger made her blood boil. So annoyed that she almost missed that he called her lovely. Maybe if he wasn't being such a jerk she'd notice him too. "If you could in one second why didn't you?" She didn't hide her emotions like her cousin, especially anger.
"Just Supergirl. And you..Shift. Why have I not seen you around before?" Kara asked while trying to cool down. She thought she was doing pretty good in remembering who everyone was. One of the men at her feet shifted and she kicked him so he'd stop. The police would hopefully be here soon to pick these guys up.

"Simple. I wanted to see what you could do, to see if you were a trained hero, or not. You seem to have a high amount of skill for someone so young. I'll tell you what. You tell me your story, and then I'll show you what I can do," said Shift, waiting for her to accept his offer. Should she do so he'd learn some about a heroine he thought was beautiful. "As to why you've not seen me around before, it's very complicated. Suffice it to day though that it involves dimensional travel, and a one way trip."
Cameron then started to activate the Omni-Arm, a green display of the various aliens appearing. Finally, he'd select one of them but was unaware that it was the same species that Supergirl was, Kryptonian. Slamming down his hand on the groove, he'd instantly undergo a metamorphosis that transformed him into a Kryptonian. This was an alien he had never used before to be honest. Of course most of the aliens he had access to in the past had been removed, but were now replaced by a ton of new ones.
"What am I?" asked Cameron, looking at the green suit he wore, which also had a cape. "Okay, the cape has to go."

Of course he had to being up how young she was, or at least how she appeared to be young. If was another one of her insecurities, and why some of the other heroes didn't take her seriously sometimes. Kara let out a big sigh. "I do just fine." He asked about her and she shrugged, still defensive. "I don't trust you." Dimensional travel would explain a lot of things, such as his tech and appearance. She was always too curious for her own good, and decided to play along a little. "I'm from a planet that was destroyed years ago, and ended up here."
Kara examined the man as he fooled around on his tech thing and selected something, transforming before her eyes. "What am I?" He asked. Her eyes went wide. "Kryptonian..?" She examined him closer. "What kind of game are you trying to play here? Shifting into the race of my home planet, whom have been dead for years. Tell me exactly who you are. NOW." She was more confused than angry, and couldn't help but notice his attractive features.

"Cameron Dolos. I can't tell you my real name, to keep my true identity a secret, but for all intensive purposes that is my real name. The device on my arm allows me to transform into over a million aliens," said Cameron to her. "This alien seems to be more powerful than any of the aliens that I was able to turn into in the past," said Cameron, smiling a bit at her. He couldn't help but notice her attractive features as this alien. Of course he wasn't ready to act on those feelings, because he was still recuperating.
Julie's death, and that of his family had taken a major toll on Cameron. His old identity had been terminated. He'd faked his own death and left with the blessing of the individual who had made the Omni-Arm to the new dimension he now called home. Here he could have a fresh start. One thing he knew was no one was going to find out who he really was, here. Sure he didn't have as many resources as he had back home, but he'd get there. Perhaps one day he could be worthy of the old costume he had worn as a hero, but he wasn't sure if he could ever wear it again. His old identity had died with his family, according to what he had arranged.
"I got my powers when I was ten years old, Supergirl. Do you want to learn more about my past, or would you rather not? Be warned, it's not an exactly happy story."
Tears came into Cameron's eyes, as he thought about his past.

She wondered how advanced his dimension was to have a device like that. If he were an enemy, he'd be a very difficult and unpredictable foe. That is, if he was as strong as he claimed do be. "We are very strong. This planet's star gives us extra strength and abilities we did not have on our home planet."
Somehow Kara could tell that his tears were sincere, and she almost let her guard down. Almost. Criminals have tried trick her like this before, and she didn't fall for it then either. "What is your age now then?" She asked. It looked like he might have been around here, though with aliens it was always hard to tell. The tech he owned could change appearance drastically too. "You can tell me about your past another time, if you would really like to."
Police finally started to arrive and place handcuffs on the men. She pointed at one of the guns they had been using. "Put those somewhere safe until I can get someone to examine them closer. Perhaps we can find out where simple thugs got such technology and stop more people from getting them." Once the officers were finished and leaving, she looked back over to Cameron. "So what is your goal here on this planet? These people are mine to protect."

"I'd be 19 in a few hours," said Cameron, to her. She was honest, and reminded him of Julie in many ways. Yet she was also different in that he didn't need to worry himself about her durability, or survival. She could protect herself if push came to shove. Sure Julie had attempted to do so, but even Ship was not a match for the warlord who had been very interested in acquiring the Omnitrix. A warlord that Cameron hoped was never going to show up in this place. For if he did, Cameron was not sure what was going to happen. What was he going to do as "Shift" here anyway? As the memories flooded into his head, like an unwelcome visitor Cameron knew he couldn't keep the secret of his past from her. She had to know, and she had said she'd be fine with hearing about it.
Still he was not going to tell her, at least not yet if he could avoid it. Some things, like his past were better left buried. It was why his old identity had been killed off by him in his home dimension, so that the heroes that remained would assume that the Omnitrix had perished with him, and so the alien warlord that had tried to claim it would give up. It was the one favor he could do to anyone who would have been able to be a hero in his dimension, after he left it. A favor that he hoped was one that would work.
"Currently I honestly have no goal, other than make sure that young heroes don't go through what I went through. Even if it means I must murder their villains, I am more than willing to bare the blame, and the punishment for such."
Cameron was hiding what had happened from her, to a degree. However, the event he had experienced was clearly traumatic.
Whatever had happened to him... it was something she wouldn't want to experience.

So, she was right. He was about her age. Well technically he was much younger, but we will spare the details of being in space for years inside a pod that stopped her from aging. He seemed older than he was though. But she supposed traumatic events will do that to a person.
"Uh, no.. as much as we want to, we are not murderers." She was almost trying to convince herself of that too. "I am here to protect these people, from you if I have to." If this guy thinks he can run around killing people, there will be a lot of other heroes after him as well. She should probably tell Superman about Cameron at least. He'd probably be mad at her if she hid something like this. "That means you intend on staying here for a while?" She would prefer if he did, if only to keep an eye on him.

"You really must be a hero, if you wish to protect the people from me," said Cameron, as he looked at her. Still, if she wanted to battle against him, he should really not hold back against her. She was beautiful, but that was not any excuse for him to pull his punches against her in this circumstance. Sighing, he'd look at her. "Yes, I will be staying here for a while." said Cameron, slamming the dial on his chest. When he did an explosion of green light consumed his body completely, and when it vanished, things were different.
Cameron was still in the form of his Kryptonian, but now from the neck down? He was wearing a high tech suit of battle armor that provided him constant Yellow Sun Radiation. The armor was also heavily weaponized, and equipped so it could take on a legion of soldiers without so much as breaking a sweat. It was weaponized enough to where there were very few things alive that could stop him when he was in this form.
Cameron then shook his head. "Behold Ultimate Kryptonian. It's one of the forms I haven't practiced with yet." In truth he had never used this form before, and didn't know what it was capable of. The same was also true of all his new Aliens, Cameron needed practice he had never had with the aliens, to say the least.

"Not really being a hero when you know you'll win." she replied with confidence. "If you stay around here you have to follow the rules. My rules."
Cameron once again hit some buttons and he gained a ton of armor and weapons. She'd never seen anything like that before. But why was he putting on armor? Was he going to the and fight her? Kara cracked her knuckles. She was as strong as Superman, perhaps even stronger sr times because she won't hold back. These humans made him soft. If he really wanted to she'd be ready. This guy was very unpredictable to her and couldn't read what his intentions were. The last thing Kara was, was afraid.
Kara gave him a nod. "Having all that fancy stuff means nothing if you don't know how to use it." She knew that all too well. It took a lot of practice for her to get where she was now. She made mistakes just like everyone else, and on top of that she knew she was strong and got cocky at times.

"And what are those rules?" asked Cameron to her.
Agreeing to the rules that he didn't know was not a wise idea, but right now he had to learn how to use a whole host of new aliens. None of these were familiar to him in the slightest, either which was a problem. Cameron wished he had some of his old aliens at his disposal because any of them were more useful than the ones he had now. His pyrokinetic alien for example was one he knew the abilities and weaknesses of. However the Kryptonian she had mentioned was one he had a lot to learn about.
What could that alien do? What were it's vulnerabilities? His lack of information on the alien could prove to be a problem if he were to ever use that form again, thought Cameron.
"Mind if we spar, to see how much I need to learn about this form?" asked Cameron.
